Kanyadan and the myths surrounding it.

Follow Johnny Silverhand here @SparesofWar

One way to ensure a lasting effect of civilizational collapse is to attack its very fundamentals. In our case, it is the family system that has been both the cynosure as well as eyesore for many, particularly the Western thought.

Therefore, by introducing inappropriate translations and equivalences to Dharmic concepts, people try to influence their own myopic view of humanity and life in general. The ready availability of semi-literate wokes among us is an added bonus in this endeavor. One such concept that has been vilified by not just dolts
but by this new breed of so-called corporate gurus is Kanyadaanam.

Kanyadanam is probably the very few types of daanas that actually confer more than what is being given. It is also the only daana to my knowledge where the daata does not say "Na mama". Let's look at it briefly.

First, let's attempt to understand what daana means. Daana is NOT gifting. Donation may be a suitable translation, but it is still grossly inadequate. There is no proper translation for Daana in English. Etymology is everything when it comes to practices in SD.

In very simple terms, Diyathe iti daanam. That which is to be given. So, can anything that can be given qualifies to be a daana? No. The Amarakosa further defines Daana as Thyago vihaapitam utsarjana visarjane — all these are different forms of daana
There are also 9 other synonyms including vitaranam, sparsanam nirvapanam etc.

But the core of all is Thyaga. Keep a note on "Thyaga" for now.

That's why it's further said that all these different forms of daana are only to be given to Devabraahmanadi sampradaanaka dravyamochanam
(note that it is single word when written in Samskrutam), which means Daana can only be given to Devatas, Brahmanas, and others who do proper sadaachara. This is way beyond the purview of the word "gifting" or "commodification". In fact while giving the daana to a Brahmana,
the gruhasta says, Vipraya prakatavrataya bhavate Vishnu swarupaaya te. The recipient is considered sakshat Bhagavan Himself. Do we give gifts thinking the other person is God? No.

The act of Daana is proper science in itself, which we will discuss later. There are so many variations and eligibility criteria listed, which are quite exhaustive to make it a mini Sastra. But understanding the essence of Daana is essential to know the significance of Kanyadana.

Of all the most important aspects of daana, a few salient features must be known to properly differentiate it from gifting.

1. The enjoyment of daana is for the dhaata and not the receipient.
2. It is the dhaata's responsibility to find a suitable recipient. Only daanas given to
suitable recipients count. And if the dhaata makes a mistake in estimation of the recipient's worthiness, the sin incurs to the donor and not the recipeient.
3. Daana can be given to all Varnas.
4. Daana is given only upon saying the sankalpa and to the intended recipient only.
5. Daana should be given with respect and without any regrets or remorse.

Having known this basic premise of daana, let's juxtapose this to Kanyadana and also add a tinge of Vedantic wisdom.
Many say Kanyadana is a recent practice included in smritis and grihyasutras but not in Vedas. This is not correct. First of all, this stupid classification of pre-Vedic, post-Vedic time period should be discouraged. Time is always Vedic since it's a form of Paramatma Himself.

There are basically 8 types of vivahas. Of which the first 4 viz. Braahmyam, Daivam, Aarsham, and Praajapatyam are exalted. As humans, we follow Praajapatyam in the interest of leading a Dharmic life and to beget Dharmic progeny. The other 4 viz Aasuram, Gaandharvam, Raakshasam,
and Paisaachikam are forbidden in Kali Yuga. What's the issue if one elopes and marries with with a partner of their choice, you ask? Sastras dont give out personal judgement. They only talk on the basis of what sustains Dharma and what doesnt.

Upanishad says Na karmanaa na prajayaa thyage naike amrutatva maanasu:
Not my karmas alone, not by progeny alone, immortality (everlasting bliss) is attained by renunciation. Now this is a very lofty saying and one of the cornerstones of vivaha is to help us realize this suktam.

Remember, we alluded to the word Thyaga before? Thyaga can be somewhat translated as renunciation.

In fact, the word yagna means thyaga-purvaka karma. Bhaarata is the land where such yagnas are performed. While people may have their own individual perceptions, as per Sastras

The summum bonnum of marriage is to beget Dharmic progeny. Prajaayai gruha medhinaam says Kalidasa in Raghuvamsam. I've heard people saying marriage is all about Paanigrahanam and not Kanyadanam. This is laughable. Vivaha includes several Vaidika krathus of which Kanyadanam
actually precedes Paani Grahaham and Vivaha Homam. Like Daana, the bride's family (or anyone who is performing the marriage) first ascertains the eligibility of the groom by looking at his vamsam and his qualities. Similar to Daana, Kanyadana is also a Vaidika kriya. Therefore,
it can be given only to those described before i.e. Devatas, Brahmanas, and other eligible people. This is why the groom is considered to be Maha Vishnu and the bride to the Maha Lakshmi. By union of Paramatma and Prakruti, creation is established. SD practices are a microcosm of the overarching principles governing this universe. And similar to how the dhaata has to arrange all the paraphernalia required for daana, the kanyadhata also has the final say in arranging for this kanyadanam. The groom or his family has no right to interfere in this.

This is modern day malice just like dowry. While performing the kanyadanam, the father says saalankruta sahiranyodaka kanyadanam aham karishye. Even today in marriages, the father says the shloka that Maharaja Janaka said while giving kanyadanam of Sita to Raama.
Iyam Seeta mama suta sahadharmacharee tava |
Praticcha tenaam badram te paanim gruhnishva paaninaa ||

This is my daughter Seeta. She will follow you in all your Dharmic duties. Accept Her. Let both of you be safe. Take Her Palm into Yours.

Janaka further goes on to say,
Pativrata Mahaabhaaga Chhaayevaanugatha sadaa

She will be auspicious and abiding and will follow You like Your Shadow.

Remember I had said that in kanyadana the daatha does not utter na mama. This is because if the father says na mama, then it means he has completely
all of her responsibilities. Janaka never said na mama. That means the father/parents can still intervene if needed. She is still very much their daughter. This is not applicable to conventional daana let alone gifting.

However, the maternal side rarely, if at all, involves with the couple's ways of life. Therefore, the take home message is, kanyadana is NOT gifting. The bride is NOT a commodity. The father entrusts a responsibility to the groom and does not trade anyone. Vaidika Vivaha sampradayas need to be respected for not only the wellbeing of the natives but for the welfare of the world as well.

The Saptapadi itself signifies 1 Paramatma, 2 humans, 3 knots, 4 diks as the witness, 5 bhutas as guests, 6 seasons, and 7 steps.

All this to ultimately realize the original Upanishadic purport of thyage naike amrutatva maanasu:
mentioned before.

Without understanding such depth, one should not draw faux conclusions and mislead people in the garb of what one thinks is right or wrong. Tasmat sastram pramanam te kaarya akaarya vyavasthithou.

Partition horrors of India and Gandhi

To know the truth about Gandhi, one must listen to the eyewitness account of MK Pahwa, who was a refugee from Pakistan during Partition. He witnessed first hand the horrifying bestiality & savagery on Hindus and Sikhs by the Muslims during Partition.

Pahwa recounts the spectacle of the millions of Hindu and Sikh refugee caravans thus:" We walked night and day. There were men and women of all ages and all conditions. Many could not stand the strain. They-mostly women and children-were left on the road."

"I reached a place called Fazilka, in Indian territory, and discovered that another refugee column in which my father and other relatives had set out had fared much worse. They had been attacked by Muslim mobs on their way: Only 40 or 50 had survived out of 400 or 500."

"My aunt had been killed, more than a hundred girls were abducted, and my father rescued from a heap of the dead." While in Fazilka, Pahwa saw other refugee columns coming in; one of them 40 miles long where marched 500 women who had been stripped naked.

"I saw women with their breasts, noses, ears and cheeks cut. One of them told me how her child was roasted and she was asked to partake of the same. Another was ravished in the presence of her husband who was kept tied to a tree."6/

By January of 1948, over 7 million Hindu and Sikh refugees were forced to flee to India, and more than 1 million were concentrated in Delhi. But instead of finding relief in land of their brothers, Hindus & Sikhs were subjected to a humiliating and dehumanizing experience. They were herded like cattle in barbed-wire enclosures, and so overcrowded that those who came after had to live in street and under trees in cold winter. As they began to wander the streets of Delhi in search of food and shelter, the refugees were horrified.

They found that the Muslim citizens of Delhi were in contrast being provided with rations, funds, jobs and shelter.Depression from the abject starvation, freezing temperatures, lack of shelter and disease on the part of the refugees gave way to a black despair.

Then they realized that the Indian government was not going to raise a finger to aid them, at the special behest of "Bapuji" Driven by sheer desperation, the Hindus and Sikhs started occupying public places such as Mosques to escape the torturous weather.

And wonder of wonders, instead of assisting them the Congress government deployed police violence, thrashing and beating down the refugees to bar them from "offending Muslim sensibilities"!! While Hindus and Sikhs by the millions suffered unprecedented genocide and slaughter.

They were forced at swordpoint to abandon their ancestral properties and flee, the Congress Government was busy ensuring that these same refugees were treated like garbage in contrast to the protection that Muslims in India were enjoying.12/nIt was as though the floodgates of a dam broke open, and the desperate refugees fought the Muslims to salvage their own survival. Can one imagine a more shameful and outrageous situation than this?

And what was the "Father of the Nation", the apostle of peace, the prophet of Ahimsa doing while millions of our Hindu and Sikh brothers, sisters and children bled to death in their OWN land?? He was busy exhorting "Hindu culprits" to maintain "communal harmony". The genocide & massacre of Hindus & Sikhs at the hands of Muslims were to be forgotten!! On January 12, 1948, the great Mahatma, announced an indefinite fast based on 7 conditions, which included a demand to pay 55 Crores to the very Pakistanis who had reduced millions of Hindus & Sikhs to a pile of bones and burning, stinking flesh.Not only did he want India to "forget" about the 300 Crores that Pakistan owed us, but over and above that he wanted India to PAY 55 Crore Rupees to them!

Every condition laid down by Gandhi for giving up his fast was against the very nature of humanity. But this was not all, among other 6 conditions, yet another condition was that ALL the Muslims who had left India, must be taken back. And all the mosques occupied by the dying Hindu & Sikhs would be vacated by force. Not only this, each and every Muslim who would be brought back from Pakistan would be provided food, clothing and shelter, EVEN if at the expense of evicting Hindus and Sikh residents!!!! Imagine the shock, grief and utter disbelief that gripped those dying refugees as they saw this insane version of "Bapuji's justice" being perpetrated on their wounded and tattered beings! It is a testament to the supreme self-control and humanity of those people. That they did not tear Gandhi to shreds, that very day. The only protest they allowed themselves were angry shouts of "Gandhi-ko marne do. Ham ko makan do". (Let Gandhi die, just give us shelter.) Those refugees were not murderers, plunderers or "Hindu fanatics" They were the ancestor of today's Indians like you and me. By January 16th, the Congress led by Nehru gave in to the Mahatma's demands. The Indian cabinet decided to transfer the money to Pakistan "as a gesture of goodwill". An inter-communal peace committee was set up. By the 18th it could convince the Mahatma that the necessary change of heart had taken place in Delhi to enable him to break his fast. By the 20th evening he was back on the lawns for "all-faith" prayer meetings.

If Mahatma Gandhi were alive today, we would ask this man, "Do you know what drove men steeped in the tolerance of Hinduism to take on the mantle of fanaticism?" Why do the history textbooks which still guide the children of India today, not ask this question? Why do the newspapers that spill over with headlines denouncing "Hindutva fanatics" not ask this?? And last but not least, why do we Indians who inherited the horror of knowing that millions of us were subjected to the most heinous form of injustice by his actions, still keep quiet when we hear that insufferable phrase "Father of the Nation"???? It is hard, so hard to give up our sacred icons, but it is truth alone which deserves to be enshrined as an ideal, not flawed mortals like Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Papa ki Pari

LEGAL HISTORY CORNER  Issue 5: September 2021

Papa Ki Pari
Horrifying Story

This case is one of the most shocking murders of Bombay. A suitcase was washed ashore behind the Mahim Dargah on 2 December 2019.  On opening the suitcase, the contents were enough to horrify even the most stone-hearted.
The suitcase was filled with body parts, a hand, a leg and male genitals! It also contained a pair of trousers, a white shirt and a red half-sleeved sweater.

The Mahim Branch Police got into action and sent the body parts for forensic examination. At the same time, the Crime Branch Unit V was instructed to make parallel inquiries. The inquiries kept reaching a dead end as they were investigating the murder of an “unknown male.”

ABSENCE OF CLUES
Finding the identity of the murdered man was like looking for a needle in a haystack. The first clue that the Police found was on the collar of the shirt stuffed in the suitcase. The inside of the collar had a label that read “Almo Men’s Wear.” So, the detectives reached this tailoring shop in Kurla. The owner went through all his bills for the last 100 days.

On going through the tailor’s bills, the investigation team identified one of the tailor’s customers who had ordered that description of a shirt. They made their way to the house of that individual but found him hale and hearty and very much in possession of the shirt tailored by Almo Men’s Wear. They realized they were on the wrong track.

Bombay Police and Crime Branch are second to none. On further going through all the tailoring shop bills they found another probable customer by the name of Bennett who could have ordered the shirt.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Armed with just the name of Bennett which could be a first name or last name the police started the search for a Bennett on social media. They found a man by the name of Bennett Rebello. What strengthened their belief was a picture on his Facebook where the man was wearing the red half-sleeved sweater found in the suitcase. He was a 59 year old Vakola based guitarist.

Now the police were hot on their trail. Detectives posing as Bennett Rebello’s friends were sent out to his residential area in Santacruz. Neighbours informed the “friends” they hadn’t seen Bennett in several days and that he lives with his 19 year old adopted daughter.

The police then questioned the adopted daughter, who claimed Bennett had gone to Canada, but she had no answers as to why he had gone there, where he was staying in Canada, with whom he had gone and when he would return. This made the investigating Team very suspicious. After being questioned for hours the girl broke down and admitted that she had murdered Bennett. Evidently, the murder was pre-planned.

MURDER MOST BRUTAL
The police found that on 26 November the 19 year old girl Aradhya Patil, along with her 16 year old boyfriend beat Bennett with sticks and then stabbed him to death. "Papa ki Pari’ had murdered her father. The two sold his phone and with that money bought four meat cleavers. In a gruesome act, they kept hacking his body into pieces. They lived in that house and carried out the heinous act for three days. They kept freshening the room with air fresheners then packed the parts in three suitcases and on 1st December threw the suitcases in the Mithi river flowing across Vakola. One of the suitcases washed ashore at Mahim Dargah. Hours after the murder she wrote a note in English and Hindi in a notebook “Dad I am sorry, I am really sorry, really really sorry. I am a bad girl.”

MOTIVE FOR MURDER
During questioning the girl claimed she murdered Bennett because he was exploiting her sexually. This was never verified. She had run away from home when she was 14 and started living in Bennett’s house. He did not like her coming home late and her relationship with her boyfriend. It seems Bennett had promised her his house upon his death, which seems to be the real motive for the murder.

Both were charged for murder and destruction of evidence under the Indian penal code. Escorted by the crime branch the girl ironically sporting a T-shirt with the print "Papa Ki Pari" was handed to Mahim Police. Her boyfriend was sent to a Juvenile Remand Home in Dongri.

Manmohan Singh 'sold' Indian Institutions

Today, the 3 largest private sector banks, ie ICICI-Bank, HDFC-Bank, and AXIS-Bank, - all three used to be government banks, but in the PV Narasimha Rao government, Dr.Manmohan was the Finance Minister  Singh sold them!

 The full name of ICICI was Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India.  It was such an institution of the Government of India, which used to give loans to big industries.

 In a jiffy, Finance Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh disinvested it, made it private, and renamed it ICICI Bank!

 The full name of HDFC Bank as it is today was Housing Development Corporation of India.  It used to be such an institution of the Government of India, which used to provide home loans to middle class citizens at cheap interest!

 Dr. Manmohan Singh, who was the finance minister in the Narasimha Rao government, said, "The government's job is only to govern, not sell home loans!"

 Dr. Manmohan Singh calls this a necessary step, and says, "The job of the government is only to run the government, not run a bank, or give loans!"

 And in a jiffy, Finance Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh sold HDFC Bank!  And it became a private sector bank!

 One such interesting story is from Axis Bank!

 There used to be an organization of the Government of India, its name was Unit Trust of India.  This organization was formed to promote small savings.  That is, you could deposit a small amount in it!

 Dr. Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister in the Narasimha Rao government said, "The job of the government is not to run the scheme of chit fund!"

 And in a jiffy it was sold out!  Earlier it was named as UTI Bank, and later it was named as Axis Bank!

 Similarly today there is IDBI Bank, which is a private bank!  At one time it used to be an organization of the Government of India, whose name was Industrial Development Corporation of India!  Its function was to give loans to industries.  But Dr. Manmohan Singh sold it too!  And today it has become a private bank!

 Never let your memory be weak!

 Who brought the disinvestment policy to India?  Just do a search!

 When Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister during Narasimha Rao's time, Dr. Manmohan Singh said in Parliament, "Maximum government, less governance!"

 He had said, "The job of the government is not to do business, the job of the government is to give governance! Such an environment is to be given, so that the citizens of the country can do all these things!"

 Dr. Manmohan Singh was the first to bring "Toll Tax Policy"!  i.e. "Build roads by private companies, and allow those companies to collect toll tax!"

 Dr. Manmohan Singh initiated the "Privatization of Airports" first, and Delhi's "Indira Gandhi Airport" was given to GMR Group to run it commercially!

 Today Champak dances and dances, singing the impeccable melody, "Modi has sold it to his friends!"

 If Dr. Manmohan Singh does it - disinvestment! And if Modi does - sold the country!!

 In 2009-10, Dr. Manmohan Singh sold 5 government companies!

 1. HPC Ltd.;

 2. OIL - Oil India Limited;

 3. NTPC - National Thermal Power Corporation;

 4. REC - Rural Electrification Corporation;

 5. NMDC - National Mineral Development Corporation!

 In 2010-11, Dr. Manmohan Singh sold 6 more government companies!

 1. SJVN - Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited;

 2. EIL - Engineers India Limited;

 3. CIL - Coal India Limited;

 4. PGCIL - Power Grid Corporation of India;

 5. MOIL - Manganese Ore India Ltd.;

 6. SCI - Shipping Corporation of India!

 In 2011-12, Dr. Manmohan Singh sold two more government companies!

 1. PFC - Power Finance Corporation;

 2. ONGC - Oil & Natural Gas Corporation!

 In 2012-13 Dr. Manmohan Singh sold and 8- Government companies!

 1. SAIL - Steel Authority of India Ltd.;

 2. NALCO - National Aluminum Company Limited;

 3. RCF - National Chemicals and Fertilizers;

 4. NTPC - National Thermal Power Corporation;

 5. OIL - Oil India Limited;

 6. NMDC - National Mineral Development Corporation;

 7. HCL - Hindustan Copper Limited;

 8.  NBCC!

 In 2013-14, Dr. Manmohan Singh sold 12 more government companies!

 1. NHPC - National Hydro-Electric Power Corporation;

 2. BHEL - Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited;

 3. EIL - Engineers India Limited;

 4. NMDC - National Mineral Development Corporation;

 5. CPSE - CPSE-Exchange Traded Fund;

 6. PGCI - Power Grid Corpof India Limited;

 7. NFL - National Fertilizers Ltd.;

 8. MMTC - Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation;

 9. HCL - Hindustan Copper Limited;

 10. ITDC - Tourism Development Corporation of India;

 111.  STC - State Trading Corporation;

 There is proof of all this...

 2. First click on Dis-investment!  Then click on Past Dis-Investment!

 3. All the information (data) given in the post is available there!

Made this post to open the eyes of those citizens who think that Modi is selling the country!  Modi is selling the country, Dr. Manmohan Singh has already sold the country!

 In Congress language, Dr. Manmohan Singh sold 26 government companies in 5 years in 2009-14
